Episode 1

Telfar announces a cryptic event via Instagram countdown. The telfar “T” appears with a clock winding down.
T minus 2 days. T minus 12 hours.
T minus 10 minutes.

The show starts… And it’s just a Black screen. While we, the audience, can’t see anything, we hear voices. We hear names. We hear a strained voice call out for their grandmother like someone was too lazy to get the remote, or a family member needed you to run an errand. And then the black screen disappears.

A Black girl ,with beads in her hair, struggles to flip the camera. When she does, we find that we are being live streamed into a living room. The kind with the plastic protectors on everything cause we don’t know where you been. The kind that welcomes peppermint candies on sunday. We see a comfy looking carpet, but most importantly we see “normal” people.

Episode 1 continued

The kind that cut coupons in the 90’s because they had to figure out dinner, and lunch money for their kids and bills all at the same time. People that were told they were too normal. Too oily faced. Too much gap teeth. Too not enough. But they’re here. When “not enough” becomes a part of your ancestry, all the negatives people name you turn into something to be proud of. 

We hear a barrage of compliments after a teenage looking Black girl with afro puffs walks out of her room. She looks like she could have been a powerpuff girl in an alternate universe. They ask her what she’s wearing and she says the new Telfar x UGG. 
They ask her to model for them, so she strikes a pose: hand on hip, leg out, prayer hands, the iconic drake stance. Then the whole family gets involved. Grandmother, mother, father, that uncle that’s always around for some reason… A soul train line on beige carpet turned runway. Kitchen to television is their canvas.

As the young girl dances down the aisle, the doorbell rings and the grandmother exclaims, “De’Sharra, get the door!” The young girl grooves to the door and in the process knocks over the camera recording the IG live.

Episode 1 - The “post” show

Once the end card pops up, Telfar will slowly release BTS posts allowing people to learn more about the cast and they will give the audience the option to choose what happens next. 4 options will be presented:

1. Should we send the family some unreleased merch in the next episode?

2. Should we learn more about De’Sharra and how she got this new drop so early?

3. Dance Battle?

4. (Write in your ideas of what you’d like to see in the next episode)

Episode 2 based on option B

The Episode opens similar to how episode 1 started, because De’Sharra knocks over the phone recording the Instagram live. The audience is again met with a Black screen. The unnamed young Black girl with beads in her hair that greeted us Episode 1, once again sets up the IG live as De’Sharra answers the door bell.

De’Sharra grooves to the door and when she pulls the brass knob towards her, she sees a representative from Telfar. The are dressed in some never before seen Telfar gear, including some pants in heather grey. They say, “De’Sharra Good, your presence is requested at New York Fashion Week. We’ve been watching your live and have taken note of the audience’s reaction to you and your family. We’d love to have you represent us, our fashion and our community during one of the biggest fashion events of the year.”

De’Sharra pauses. Her mouth drops so quickly, it almost falls off the hinges. She’s so stuck in disbelief that the younger girl comes to check on her.

“De’Sharra, are you ok?” While holding the camera, she pans from De’Sharra to the Telfar representative. The rep waves at the camera and the Instagram audience begins to comment their confusion. The chat lights up with question marks and “Who is that?” and “Where can i get those shoes!?” 

Still in shock, De’Sharra finally speaks. “Mecca, they want me to model for them at NYFW…”

Episode 2 continued

Her family begins to gather around the front door to check on her. “De’Sharra what’s up?” & “Why you letting my good air out?”

She says, “i’m grateful to have this opportunity sir, but… what about my family?”

The episode ends with a wide shot of the grandmother, mother, father, uncle, and De’Sharra
